During the 1990’s each of the UK’s police forces had their own unique livery, rather than the current universal Battenberg livery. Hampshire’s livery was the red and white striped livery depicted on this motorcycle. It was known as the ‘candy stripe’ and won several awards for its design and incredible reflective qualities.
At this time practically every marked police vehicle within the Hampshire fleet carried this livery. Honda produced a Police specification Honda ST1100 Pan European (often just referred to as ‘The Pan’), which was used by a large number of police forces around the world, as well as the military, ambulance services and other motoring organisations.
This particular machine is a recreation of a Candy Stripe liveried Hampshire Police bike from this era. It is believed that this machine was originally supplied to the military and came into the current custodians ownership with a Battenburg livery in 2023. PVL from Burgess Hill in Sussex recreated and applied the complete livery and crests.
